Amazing who you discover in a cellular chat-room at o'dark-thirty in the morning when you can't sleep.
I was at my mom's and couldn't sleep. I didn't want to turn the light on and read and I didn't want to get up to go downstairs to watch TV. So, I decided to play around with my new phone and check out some of the features on Verizon's Mobile Web.
After wandering around in each of the menus, I found herself in a section with chatrooms. I noticed that some of them had fees attached but there was one that didn't. I signed on, created an ID and profile, and started getting hits right away.
One person in particular stuck out. He didn't come at me with the usual lines. He was different. He was respectful and nice. He was exactly what his name said he was - Cool. And it was nice. We sent text messages back and forth for a little while and decided to meet.
We met at a local IHOP on June 18, 2007. It was a Monday evening. The weather was perfect - warm and clear. He ordered liver and onions. I had a bowl of fruit.
We have been together ever since.
