How He Proposed

We went to IHOP to celebrate our 1 year anniversary last week.

On our way into the restaurant, he pointed out a car that looked like his mom’s.

I looked, and then did a double take because it was her car! How cool – we’ll get to visit with them for a minute or two while we wait for a table.

So we get into the restaurant and I found her straight-away and we started talking. JR pulled out a chair for me so we could visit for a bit. The three of us are chatting and here comes her hubby. Well, that was a nice surprise So everyone re-hugged and we all sat and were chatting happily away.

JR looks at everyone, shakes his head and says, “Ya’ll, I know I’m supposed to wait until after dinner but I can’t wait.” I look at him to ask what’s wrong and I see him reaching into his pocket. Next thing I know, the man is getting down on bended knee and is telling me he loves me and asking me to marry him! We met in IHOP on June 18 last year and on June 18 this year, in IHOP mind you, in front of the wait staff and customers, he asks me to marry him!!

And as soon as I saw that classically styled, beautiful, engagement ring, I was crying and saying YES! YES!! YES!!!
